Fireworks returned to New Orleans on Independence Day thanks to actor Will Smith. Smith is picking up the roughly $100,000 tab for the pyrotechnics over the Mississippi River after learning New Orleans didn’t plan a 2021 show. New Orleans canceled last year’s fireworks because of the coronavirus pandemic. Smith is in New Orleans working on his latest film “Emancipation,” which will tell the story of a slave, Peter.
Robert Downey Jr caused much panic among fans when he unfollowed all his fellow Marvel stars on Instagram. Fans are in much distress and are determined to know the reason behind this action. Downey, who played the role of Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade, hasn’t unfollowed anyone on his Twitter account yet. Going by his previous posts, Robert Downey Jr shares a close friendship with his Marvel friends, in particular Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, and Spider-Man actor Tom Holland.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have taken their love to Universal Studios Hollywood! The two enjoyed a day out at the theme park on Friday, along with Lopez’s 13-year-old twins, Max and Emme, and Affleck’s 9-year-old son, Samuel. An onlooker says they visited The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Simpson’s Land, and went on Jurassic World, the ride. “[They had a] private VIP tour on a trolley, with security who kept their distance as to not make a scene,” The lovebirds appeared to be having a lot of fun while kicking off their Fourth of July weekend at the theme park. Lopez looked chic in a cream-colored cropped top with matching pants, while Affleck wore a zip-up sweatshirt over a white tee with denim jeans.
Prince Harry is stateside once again. The 36-year-old royal returned to the United States on Saturday, following his U.K. reunion with Prince William. Harry and William came together at Kensington Palace in London,on Thursday to unveil the long-awaited statue of their late mother, Princess Diana. After a few days in the area, Harry returned back to California. The statue unveiling — which occurred on what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday — came amid reports of tension following Harry’s exit from senior royal duties and his tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET the brothers came together to present a “united front” at the event. “I think both of them have wanted today to be about the statue, about remembering Diana’s legacy, and not about the rift that has really overshadowed the coverage of the royal family for the past 18 months,” Nicholl shared. “So they clearly went to a lot of effort to deflect from this rift between the two of them.”
Kelly Clarkson is asking to be declared single amid her ongoing divorce from Brandon Blackstock, according to multiple reports. The 44-year-old singer filed legal docs on Friday, requesting her independence from her estranged husband. Clarkson has requested that a judge terminate her marital status and declare her single before the full details of her and Blackstock’s contentious divorce — like custody and spousal support — are finalized. Stars like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have previously requested a judgment to similarly be declared single prior to their divorce case being finalized. Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020, after six years of marriage. The pair share two children: daughter River Rose, 7, and son Remington Alexander, 5. The Voice coach and talk show host opened up about her relationship with her ex during an episode ofThe Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this year, telling guest Khloe Kardashian that co-parenting had been “tough” on the estranged pair. “With me and Brandon, it’s just a difficult thing because we’re in different places,” she said. “We both agree on the main things, but it’s a hard thing when you’re not together all the time, for me personally.”
