BILL COSBY was hoping for a parole earlier this month, but he was DENIED. The parole board said there were several factors working against him.  One of them is that he refused to participate in a therapy program for sex offenders, and they won’t even consider him for parole unless he does. He also failed to develop a parole release plan, and he got a NEGATIVE recommendation from the Department of Corrections. Cosby’s rep says he expected to be denied, and he’s still hoping the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will throw out his conviction and grant him a new trial.

The most expensive scene ever filmed in the history of “The Office” certainly wasn’t the most extravagant.  It also wasn’t the longest.  In fact, it only lasted 52 seconds. It’s the scene where Jim proposes to Pam in the parking lot of a highway gas station. If you’re a fan, you probably know that JENNA FISCHER and ANGELA KINSEY have a podcast called “Office Ladies”.  And on the most recent episode, Pam said that scene cost $250,000 . . .Because instead of just finding a gas station to film it at, they actually BUILT ONE in the parking lot of a Best Buy. And in order to create the illusion that they were on a highway, they built a four-lane race track around the fake gas station and had dozens of drivers speeding around it at 55 miles per hour. They also needed rain machines, because the proposal takes place in a downpour.

If BROTHERS OSBORNE seems like a lazy band name . . . well, it is.  But that doesn’t mean they didn’t TRY to come up with something unique. JOHN OSBORNE says, “It’s actually surprisingly difficult to come up with a band name.  There’s a liquor store in our hometown called Captain Kids.  So [at first] we named ourselves Captain Kid. “[But] on Facebook, [we saw] a band in Paris named Captain Kid, and they do like power, punk, or pop music. So we tried and tried to come up with [something new].  There was already the Osborne Brothers, and just through sheer laziness, we gave up and just switched the [order].” If you haven’t heard, Brothers Osborne will team with Dierks Bentley for a performance at the “CMT Music Awards” on June 9th.

Luke Combs might have been under lockdown like the rest of us, but his house in North Carolina has a fully-working bar, complete with pool tables, big screen TVs and a collection of vintage arcade machines. The converted barn doubles as a studio where, earlier this year, he recorded a special concert with the BBC Concert Orchestra. He ended 2020 as America’s top-selling country artist, with his second album What You See Is What You Get taking top honours from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. Not bad for someone who first picked up a guitar 10 years ago, aged 21, around the same time he dropped out of a degree in criminal justice.
