MATT DAMON was asked about the rumors of a BEN AFFLECK / JENNIFER LOPEZ reunion. He acted like he didn’t know anything, but he said, “I love them both. I hope it’s true. That would be awesome.” ALEX RODRIGUEZ was asked about the JENNIFER LOPEZ / BEN AFFLECK situation, and he said “Go Yankees.” It’s not clear if that was shade, but A-Rod was a Yankee, and Ben is a Red Sox fan.
BETTY WHITE turned 99 back in January, and so far she’s survived the COVID-19 pandemic . . . although, like the rest of us, it hasn’t been easy. Her rep says she’s been keeping herself busy at home reading, watching TV, and doing crossword puzzles . . . but she’s been lonely, because she misses interacting with her friends, face-to-face. But she’s making it work.
She writes letters, makes phone calls, and has occasional visits with friends . . . through the window of her home. She also has ducks on her property, and when they come by the house, she waves to them.
TOM CRUISE got caught on tape tearing into “Mission: Impossible 7” crew members for violating COVID protocols – and for the record . . . he’s not sorry. He says, “I said what I said. There was a surge happening in England also at that point. And there was a lot at stake at that point. But it wasn’t my entire crew. I had the crew leave the set, and it was just select people. And the wonderful thing is that we never shut down again. And here we are, continuing to film.”
That movie was one of the first to be shut down due to COVID, which was an added burden on him. “All those emotions were going through my mind. “And for the whole crew to know that we’d started rolling on a movie was just a huge relief . . . it was very emotional.”
If you’re a country star it’s part of the deal that you’ll probably be in the tabloids at some point. But when they go after your kids, that’s a different story. It happened to TRAVIS TRITT last year around Halloween. You may remember the photos of his daughter Tyler Reese hanging with Michael Ray. It was four months after Carly Pearce filed for divorce from Michael, but the story said Michael had been in Tyler’s Instagram stories for “the past few months.” “People” magazine asked Travis how he dealt with it, and he did the “fatherly advice” thing. “I tell all my kids not to pay any attention to the tabloids. I tell them to ‘live your life’ and ‘do what makes you happy’ and ‘try to be a good person’ and ‘do the things that you know are right.’ And yes, I tell them to ‘try to avoid the things you know are wrong.’ Everyone is going to have opinions and that’s fine, but you don’t have to subscribe to their opinions. Live your own life.”
There were several reasons why we had to wait six years for ALAN JACKSON to release “Where Have You Gone”, which is out Friday. He dealt with a lot of family stuff, including the loss of his mom. And when he was finally ready to get going again, the pandemic hit, and he couldn’t get his team into the studio.
