Eric Church Thankful to Have “Grown Closer to Family” During Helluva Year

Musically speaking, Eric Church has a lot to be thankful for in 2020, including winning his first CMA Entertainer of the Year Award, scoring a No. 1 single with Luke Combs (“Does to Me”) and earning a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance (“Stick That in Your Country Song”).

During this season of Thanksgiving—in a year that has been turned upside-down by the ongoing pandemic—Eric said he is grateful that he has been able to spend plenty of quality time with his wife of 12 years and two sons.

“You know, this has been a helluva year, and one thing I’m most thankful for is my family, their health,” says Eric. “We’ve all, I think, grown closer during this. I’m just thankful that I’ve been with my family and we’ve all stayed healthy and I’ve gotten to hang out with them.”

Eric released his new single, “Hell of a View,” on Nov. 9. Penned by Eric, Casey Beathard and Monty Criswell, “Hell of a View” finds Eric crooning about chasing your dreams with the one you love: “This ain’t for everybody / Toes hanging off the ledge / Like we got nothin’ to lose / Ain’t always heaven, baby / This livin’ on the edge / You holdin’ me holdin’ you / It’s a hell of a view.”
