52 year old ADAM SCHLESINGER from FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE died yesterday of complications from the coronavirus.  A statement from the band’s attorney said,  “Although he had been making some small improvements over the last few days, Adam’s condition was critical and he was ultimately unable to recover from Covid-19 complications. “The band’s biggest hit was Stacy’s Mom, but Adam was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for writing the theme song to the 1996 Tom Hanks movie “That Thing You Do”.  He also received Tony nominations for his work on the musical “Cry-Baby”.

For some couples, quarantine is the worst thing that could have happened.  For JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and JESSICA BIEL, it might be the BEST. Last November, Justin got caught drinking and cuddling with actress Alisha Wainwright during a night out in New Orleans. But a so-called “source” says, “The extra downtime that comes along with the situation is great for her [their] relationship . . . it has ultimately brought them closer and having the main focus be each other and [their son] Silas has been a good thing.” They’re still in therapy though.  They’re doing it over Skype.  They make time to work on themselves and open up about their issues. “As a whole, they are having fun and have been getting along.  They are doing well and are happy.”

The start of sporting activities has been pushed back further.  Wimbledon and the British Open golf tournament have both been canceled for the first time since World War 2 in 1945.  Wimbledon was scheduled to start in late June, and the British Open was set to start in mid-July.

DOLLY PARTON announced yesterday that she’s making a $1 million donation towards coronavirus research.  The money will go to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. In a statement she said:  “My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure.I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage others out there who can afford it to make donations.” You may have also heard about Dolly’s plan to do live readings of a children’s book from her Imagination Library every Thursday at 7:00 P.M EST.  She’ll be doing it for 10 weeks and the first reading is TONIGHT.  Check it out at ImaginationLibrary.com.

If you’ve been wondering how LORETTA LYNN is doing in the middle of the coronavirus world we live in, the answer is, fine.  She was on lockdown before most of the quarantine guidelines came down in her area. She told Billboard, quote, “Yeah, we’ve been quarantined.  It’s the damnedest thing I ever seen.”   But it’s the best thing too.  Loretta is about as high risk as you can get.  She’s 87 years old, and has had a series of health issues the past few years, including a stroke and a broken hip. And if she sounds a little more feisty than usual, that’s because her new book “Me & Patsy Kickin’ Up Dust:  My Friendship with Patsy Cline” is out next Tuesday, and she had to cancel several “national opportunities” to promote it.

42 year old KARINA SMIRNOFF from “Dancing with the Stars” gave birth to a baby boy.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson might have a rematch, but with partners this time.  And those partners might be . . . Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD has an update on her life during social distancing.  She’s at home with her family taking advantage of the generous amount of land around their property to “get some energy out.”  She’s also doing a lot of cooking, cleaning, and praying . . . and trying not to worry.

CARLY PEARCE accepted Tim McGraw’s #Deep-Cuts-Challenge and offered her take on Patty Loveless’ “Sorrowful Angels”.  Then she challenged BLAKE SHELTON, who “refused to back down” . . . and came through with a version of Wynonna’s “Only Love”.

Jessica Lang was filming a report on the coronavirus for the Suncoast News Network in Tampa.  She attempts her segment in the kitchen when something goes wrong behind the camera.  Lang asks her mom what happened and then, her father walks into the frame, still putting his shirt on.  She posted the footage to Twitter with the caption, “Work from home they said, it’ll be fine they said.”
