Someone posted a video on Saturday of the packed house at Nashville’s The Stage on Broadway. It looked like a typical weekend night with people dancing, drinking, and enjoying the band.  It was captioned “Downtown Nashville is undefeated.” That brought some finger-wagging from Maren Morris.  She wrote, “While the rest of us are trying to be responsible in our homes and get this [crap] over with, THIS?  Broadway, you aren’t a hero for staying open.” Most of the other commenters agreed.  Stuff like, “Anyone in this bar who contracts Covid gets no sympathy.”  Plus, “Looks like a fun petri dish.”  And, “Viruses don’t care how brave you are.  But they appreciate the carelessness.” Well, it probably won’t happen again for a while, because the local Board of Health is recommending the closing of all bars in Metro Nashville.  Plus, they want to reduce the restaurant occupancy to 50% or 100 seats.

The coronavirus has pushed Jon Pardi off the road and he is finding he has a lot of unexpected time on his hands these days. In his downtime, he says, he’s been catching up on chores around his 15-acre property north of Nashville, watching a little TV, grocery-shopping with fiancée Summer Duncan, and, of course, he’s been practicing good hygiene. To stay connected to fans, Pardi is now making plans to live-stream “a little jam” from the expansive workshop/party space he recently built on his property. Hoping to broadcast the show as early as next weekend, he’s asking fans to keep watching his socials for details.
