He said he’s “happy to report” that he’s reached the 1-year mark after his diagnosis – something that only 18% of people in his position get to see. But Alex admitted, “I’d be lying if I said the journey had been an easy one. There were some good days but a lot of not-so-good days. I joked with friends that the cancer won’t kill me, the chemo treatments will.” He’s struggled with “great pain and sudden massive attacks of great depression that made me wonder if it was really worth fighting on.” BUT he said that giving up “would’ve been a betrayal” to his fans, his “wife and soulmate” Jean, and God. The 2 year survival rate is just 8% – but Alex said, “If we take it just one day at a time with a positive attitude, anything is possible.”

Someone asked which song she’s “most excited” to perform live. She named the track “Hole In The Bottle”. Why call it “Kelsea”? “While writing and making it, I was also coming up for air for the first time in 6 years [and] re-getting to know myself. You hear a lot of that throughout the record.” Someone got personal and asked how she deals with anxiety, “This is a new one for me. Growing up talking about anxiety was really taboo. But I realized it’s very real and something I struggle with often. I go to therapy. I call people I trust. I take moments for myself to shut the door and get my head right. I really value boundaries.”
