SNOOP DOGG says it was his MOTHER who convinced him he needed to apologize for his attack on GAYLE KING after she brought up the KOBE BRYANT rape allegation. “She didn’t say I was wrong, she was just giving me, ‘You know I raised you better. You’re a representation of us. Snoop hasn’t spoken to Gayle personally yet, but he says he has, “reached out through her friends, her associates and I even DM’d her, sending her a prayer, letting her know I apologize to her.”
Harvey Weinstein’s ex-wife Georgina Chapman is moving on with her life. She’s dating ADRIEN BRODY . . . which is slightly ironic, since he caused a little pre-#MeToo controversy, when he forcibly kissed HALLE BERRY on the lips after winning an Oscar for “The Pianist” in 2003. This is Georgina’s first relationship since she left Harvey in 2017, after the sexual assault accusations started piling up against him. They got married in 2007, and have two kids. Reports have linked Georgina and Adrien as far back as last fall. She’s 43, he’s 46.
MARIA SHARAPOVA announced her retirement from tennis yesterday, after a 19-year career and five Grand Slam titles. She suggested that ongoing injuries played a part in her decision. She’s 32 now.
Last fall Luke Combs bet his keyboard player that the Carolina Panthers would beat the Atlanta Falcons. But they lost. The wager? Luke had to be VEGAN for three months. “I am 11 days into my vegan adventure. I mean I’m still alive I’ll put it that way. I eat a lot of protein bars, lot of veggies. I’m looking forward to a good deer steak after this is all said and done.” Luke Combs posted a demo of an unreleased new song called “Love You Anyway”. It’s a love song, and since he’s marrying Nicole Hocking sometime this year, let’s imagine it’s dedicated to her.
MAREN MORRIS announced the dates for “RSVP: The Tour.” It’ll be her first set of road dates after becoming a mom. She’s due sometime next month, hopefully after her Houston Rodeo Show on March 7th. The trek will kick off June 5th in Boston and run through mid-October. Openers for select dates include her husband RYAN HURD . . . as well as CAITLYN SMITH and pop singer JAMES ARTHUR. When I first heard CARRIE UNDERWOOD had written a book I thought, wait a second: She writes and records albums, goes on tour, does TV shows, hosts the CMAs, is a mom . . . does she ever sleep? Turns out not much. She opened up about it at a recent seminar. “I had the worst pregnancy insomnia, which ended up being a blessing because that’s when I wrote the majority of the book. The window from, like, 2:00 A.M. to five or six in the morning.” That’s when she was pregnant with her second son, Jacob, who was born in January of 2019. “Find Your Path” will be out next Tuesday.
KELLY CLARKSON and SCOTT HOYING from Pentatonix sang a special song to a hero who helped saved 20 people at the Route 91 shooting. His name is Troy Zeeman and he was at the concert with his wife Shannon. Kelly and Scott co-wrote it, and then cooked up a plan with Shannon to surprise him with the song. It aired during a recent episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.
GARTH BROOKS will get the Icon Award at the next “Billboard Music Awards”, which is going down April 29th. He’ll also be performing live.
