BRAD PITT tells his favorite Adam Sandler story. When Adam was at NYU, his acting teacher took him out for a beer, just so he could tell him, “Think about something else. Listen, you got heart, but you don’t have it. Choose another path.” Obviously, Adam didn’t listen and one day when he was with a bunch of his friends, he ran into that teacher. He introduced the teacher to his friends and said, “This is the only teacher to ever buy me a beer.”
Disney+ launched yesterday and there was a whole lot of GLITCHING going on, including people not being able to access the service or some of its features. Some people couldn’t even sign up – or once they did, they couldn’t log on. Some people bought Disney+ online, then couldn’t get it to load onto their Smart TVs or the PlayStation app – or clicked on titles, only to find them “unavailable”. Others experienced long load times, or the app crashing once a movie or TV episode was exited out of. By 10:00 A.M., Disney issued a statement saying, “The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our high expectations. We are working to quickly resolve the current user issue. We appreciate your patience.”
And “People’s” Sexiest Man Alive is JOHN LEGEND. He told the magazine he’s excited but “a little scared” because of the pressure that comes with the title. He added, “Everyone’s going to be picking me apart to see if I’m sexy enough to hold this title.” John’s wife CHRISSY TEIGEN said, “I cannot WAIT for people to get mad about John being the sexiest man alive. It’s my new Starbucks holiday cup.” Last night on “The Voice”, 2017 Sexiest Man Alive winner BLAKE SHELTON presented John with a pair of DENIM BOOTY shorts. Blake and ADAM LEVINE both won the Sexiest Man Alive before him.
Is COLIN KAEPERNICK finally headed back to the NFL? Colin says the league reached out to him about holding a workout this Saturday in Atlanta . . . because several teams have expressed interest in him. Colin reportedly told the NFL he wanted to make sure this was a, quote, “legitimate process,” and not a PR stunt. So he told them to have the teams bring serious decision-makers. He also wants a LIST of team officials who are coming. He Tweeted, “I’ve been in shape and ready for this for 3 years, can’t wait to see the head coaches and GMs on Saturday.”
Being cast opposite HARRISON FORD in the 1988 romantic comedy “Working Girl” was MELANIE GRIFFITH’s big break. Before that – it actually cost her a few bucks because she showed up to the set one day INTOXICATED . . . and they made her pay $80,000 for causing a delay in shooting. Melanie says, “There were a lot of things that happened on ‘Working Girl’ that I did that were not right. It was the late ’80s. There was a lot going on party-wise in New York. There was a lot of cocaine. There was a lot of temptation.” Three weeks later, Melanie entered rehab. But it wouldn’t be the last time.
CHRIS LANE’s wedding last month to “Bachelor” alum LAUREN BUSHNELL in the news again. Lauren talking about how he helped her get ready for the big day. “Chris tints my eyebrows for me. I will say, he has a hidden gift for makeup too, we just don’t know it.” He called her wedding makeup “flawless,” and said, “My baby does a great wing liner.”
The sand in the hourglass may be running out for “Days of Our Lives”. All of the actors have been released from their contracts, and the show is on “indefinite hiatus.” But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s doomed. “Days” shoots months in advance, so there are enough episodes to keep it going until next summer. Negotiations for a return ARE underway, but nobody in the cast is obligated to come back. If they do, they’ll have to negotiate new contracts. The company that produces “Days” is called Corday Productions – Sony is its distributor. Corday SUED Sony earlier this year, claiming they were basically burying the show. Why? Because Sony owns “The Young & the Restless” and Corday claims they were trying to eliminate the competition. “Days of Our Lives” is in its 55th season. It premiered in 1965.
JENNIFER ANISTON said the “Friends” cast was working on something. All six main cast members are in talks to get together for a reunion special that would air on HBO Max. Series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman would also be on board. This is still in the early stages though, so don’t get your hopes up yet. “Friends” is leaving Netflix at the end of this year, and heading to HBO Max, which hasn’t launched yet.

BRANTLEY GILBERT and LINDSAY ELL’s “What Happens in a Small Town” has hit Number One on the “Billboard” Country Airplay chart. Lindsay said on Instagram, “This is a moment I’ve been waiting for since I was a little girl. So many nights I’ve gone to sleep praying to be able to celebrate a #1 song. To be a part of this and to work with an incredible team of hard-working people – I’m so grateful.” The song is also up for Musical Event of the Year tonight. Even Brantley wants it to win for her sake. “It’s [my] first nomination since 2012, but it’s Lindsay’s first. [I’d] love to see awesome things happening for any female in our genre, but especially Lindsay. [As] close as I’ve been with her and seeing how hard she grinds just makes it that much more special. I’m more excited for her than I am for me.”
MIDLAND is up for New Artist of the Year tonight, but there’s a chance MARK WYSTRACH won’t be there because his pregnant wife could give birth any minute now. This came up while he was talking about the band finally getting off the road. “I think we’re all really looking forward to getting back to our families and getting [some] much well-deserved time off. I’m just ready to get done with all this stuff and get home and be there for my wife, ’cause she’s ready to burst.”
