Prince’s autobiography “The Beautiful Ones” comes out today, and it includes a shot at two artists who probably idolize him: ED SHEERAN and KATY PERRY. He says, “We need to tell [the music industry] that they keep trying to ram Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran down our throats and we don’t like it no matter how many times they play it.”
Remember that Woodstock 50th anniversary show that fell apart over the summer? Well, at least one good thing came from it. Even though the show did NOT go on, artists who were booked for it still got paid. JOHN FOGERTY from CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL was one of them. And John is using his paycheck to buy a house for a veteran in Las Vegas. It’s at a place called Veterans Village, a complex for in-need veterans and their families, where homes are made from repurposed shipping containers. John will participate in a special groundbreaking ceremony on November 11th, which is Veteran’s Day. He says, “I’m not used to getting paid for doing nothing . . . [So I decided to] do something for veterans, ’cause that’s important to me.”
DAVE CHAPPELLE received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday night. Jon Stewart, Sarah Silverman, Common, Chance the Rapper, and Bradley Cooper were among those in attendance. Eddie Murphy sent a video tribute. The show airs January 7th on PBS.

DEVIN DAWSON and his fiancée Leah Sykes got married on Sunday at the Carnton historic plantation house and museum in Franklin, Tennessee. He’s 30 and she’s 22. They recited their own vows and sang a worship song called “How Deep the Father’s Love” because “faith is a huge part” of their relationship. They decided on a “mini moon,” but will be doing a full honeymoon early next year.
Peter Cook, the ex-husband of Christie Brinkley, is headed for the altar again. The 60-year-old recently got engaged to 21-year-old girlfriend Alba Jancou. “We are very happy,” Cook says. The couple was vacationing in Greece on Sept. 15 when Cook popped the question with a six-carat diamond ring in front of a church. “We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found, in each other, our soulmate,” Cook added. “We are looking forward to many years of wedded bliss!”
The “New York Times” asked MIRANDA LAMBERT how she met her husband, Brendan McLoughlin. She said it was around this time last year when the Annies were on “Good Morning America” . . . and he was doing show security. “My girlfriends, the Annies, saw him and knew I might be ready to hang out with someone. They invited him to our show behind my back. They plucked him for me. My security guy was in on it too. He said to me, ‘He’s here. And he’s pretty.'” She was also asked how much time she spends in Brendan’s hometown of New York City. She said, “Quite a bit. In other Miranda Lambert news: She brought an adorable eight-year-old girl to the stage at her recent show in Wichita, Kansas. Her name is Remi and she was so shy that she started crying. But Miranda put her at ease and before you know it, they were both belting out “All Kinds of Kinds” from her “Four The Record” album.
LUKE BRYAN had a really cool moment at his show last Friday in Detroit. He was presented with a plaque commemorating 54 million in digital singles sales. That’s historic because it’s more than any other country artist. He said, “When they surprised me onstage with that plaque I was blown away. My fans continue to make this journey more than I could ever imagine. I am so thankful.”
