Sitcom legend VALERIE HARPER died Friday after a six-year battle with cancer. She was 80 years old.  Valerie was only given three months to live when she was diagnosed in 2013.  That same year, she did “Dancing with the Stars”.

 

Like clockwork, every Sunday at noon thousands of people gather in St. Peter’s Square to hear Pope Francis’ remarks. However, the Pope was a noticeably late.  The Pope said, “First of all I must excuse myself being late.  I was blocked in an elevator for 25 minutes.”  He then asked for a round of applause for the first responders that rescued him and then went ahead with his remarks and blessings.

 

As she gets ready to marry ALEX RODRIGUEZ, JENNIFER LOPEZ asked for marital advice from Supreme Court Justice RUTH BADER GINSBURG. And RBG told her, “It helps sometimes to be a little deaf.”

KEVIN HART suffered serious back injuries in a car crash this weekend. He had surgery Sunday night, and his wife Eniko said, “He’s gonna be just fine.” Hart had purchased a vintage Plymouth Barracuda in July as a 40th birthday present for himself.  He named it “Menace”. Early Sunday morning, Kevin’s friend Jared Black was driving the car in Malibu when it veered off the road, rolled over, and landed in a ditch. Kevin was a passenger in the car, along with Black’s fiancée, who wasn’t seriously injured.  The car was totaled, and Black was also hospitalized with serious injuries.  According to “Entertainment Tonight”, he was NOT under the influence. Kevin was able to get out of the car himself, but authorities had to cut the roof off to get to Black and his fiancée.  When Kevin got out, he reportedly had a member of his security team pick him up so he could get medical attention. Kevin’s “Jumanji” co-star THE ROCK posted a picture of them on set and said, “Stop messing with my emotions brother . . . We have a lot more laughing to do together.  Love you man.  Stay strong.”

 

If you bring a beach ball to a MIRANDA LAMBERT concert, it may die. Somebody posted a video of her slicing into one at her show in Allentown. She grabbed a knife that was “conveniently” stashed near the drums, cut into the beach ball – and then told the crowd, “I love you all but we’re not at the da—- beach.  We’re singing country music tonight.”  When Miranda’s NOT slicing beach balls, she’s talking about how happy she is with her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.  During her show in Atlantic City she told the crowd that “Tin Man” may be a sad song, but that’s not her anymore. “Even though I’m not sad anymore thanks to Brendan my husband, I still love a sad country song with all my heart . . . so I’m going to sing a sad one if you want to get sad with me.”

With Hurricane Dorian at the Florida coast, Walt Disney World will closed early yesterday. The company Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom shut down early Monday. Disney resort hotels remained open.

 

THE JONAS BROTHERS visited a young cancer patient in the hospital in Hershey after she had to miss their show to undergo chemotherapy.

 

Paul McCartney has revealed that his grandson was recently mugged at knifepoint in London, losing his cell phone to the armed robber. McCartney said that afterwards the grandson told him that he felt like a “coward” for not fighting back. McCartney said. “I said, ‘No, no, no, no! The guy had a knife and you don’t know, the guy might be able to use that knife’.”

 

JASON ALDEAN wasn’t feeling well and had to cancel his Gulf Coast Jam show on Saturday. He wrote on Instagram, “I was really hoping I’d be able to play tonight but I’m down for the count with a stomach virus.  It’s just not in the cards for us this year.  Hope to be back as soon as I can.  Thank you to everyone who came out.”

 

KEITH URBAN and TAYLOR SWIFT have a “mutual respect” thing going on. He posted a clip of himself performing her song “Lover” over the weekend, and captioned it, “Every now and then you hear a song that you love and wish you’d written.” And then Taylor reTweeted the video and wrote, “My heart exploded into confetti hearts.  Thank you.”  She also wrote this on her Instagram story, “Keith Urban covering ‘Lover’ flawlessly.  I am screaming.  This is so beautiful.”

 

Former Gloriana singer RACHEL REINERT got married on Friday to a guy named Caleb Crosby. They met several years ago when he was hired to play drums for Gloriana.

 

CARLY PEARCE had her bachelorette party at Dollywood in Tennessee and “People” posted photos. The best ones are when she revisits a couple of the performance venues where her career started.

 

KACEY MUSGRAVES hit up social media to vent about Saturday’s shootings in western Texas. “I can’t believe we all are being forced to live in a constant state of fear.  Second mass shooting in my home state in a month?  Makes me sick to my stomach.  When will we live in a world where human lives mean more than money?”

 

The “America’s Got Talent” semi-finals at 8:00 p.m. on NBC.
