WILLIE NELSON is canceling some shows on his tour with ALISON KRAUSS because of breathing problems. It was looking bad on Wednesday when he Tweeted out that he was canceling the rest of his tour. Fortunately, he posted an update yesterday that he’s resting and feeling better, and the tour will resume on September 6th.  This means he’s only canceling his remaining August shows.  He will be at this year’s Farm Aid on September 21st.

It’s been 3 years, but TAYLOR SWIFT still remembers how CRAZY things got during her feud with KIM KARDASHIAN and KANYE WEST. In a new interview she says, “I don’t think there are that many people who can actually understand what it’s like to have millions of people hate you very loudly. Literally millions of people were telling me to disappear. So I disappeared.  In many senses.” Taylor also discusses why she waited so long to stand up for the LGBTQ community.  She says she was afraid to advocate for a community she’s not a part of because she didn’t want to make any mistakes. “My mistakes are very loud.  When I make a mistake, it echoes through the canyons of the world.  It’s clickbait, and it’s a part of my life story, and it’s a part of my career arc.”

It’s been seven months since BRETT ELDREDGE announced his “Flip-Phone Challenge” where he turned back the clock and started using an old school flip-phone instead of a smart phone. And it’s paying off in the new music he’s creating.  “All the outside noise, I’ve cut most of it out, and it’s been a profound experience of such a deeper level of anything I’ve ever written or created in my music career.” He says the biggest downside is trying to get around.  “[I] get very lost and can’t use maps or take Ubers.”

WAYNE NEWTON has a monkey. Wayne Newton’s monkey is a BAD monkey.  Because Wayne Newton’s monkey BITES.  A woman is SUING Wayne for at least $15,000, because his monkey allegedly bit her daughter during a tour of Wayne’s former home in Las Vegas a few years ago. The lawsuit says, “Without any provocation, the monkey viciously attacked and bit [the victim], causing injury to her body as well as emotional distress.”

If you build it, they will come . . . or, at least 8,000 people will. The New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox will play a regular season game at the site where the 1989 movie “Field of Dreams” was filmed in Iowa. The game is happening on August 13th of NEXT year, and it’ll air on Fox. Obviously, there’s not an actual stadium there among the cornfields – so a temporary, 8,000-seat ballpark will be built for the game. Construction will begin Tuesday.  The dimensions of the ballpark were not announced but in some photos it looks like the right-field wall will be broken up by windows to show the cornstalks behind them. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said, “I had heard little whispers about it . . . We’ll get [Kevin] Costner back to throw the first pitch.  [And get] James Earl Jones to get a [catcher’s] mask.”  It’s unclear if he’s serious about that. MLB put out a video hyping the game, with Yankee Aaron Judge alongside old footage of Costner.

An unknown songwriter claims LADY GAGA stole the melody of one of his songs for her Oscar-winning song “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born”. The guy’s name is Steve Ronsen and he claims Lady Gaga lifted a three-note progression from his song “Almost”, which he did in 2013. Ronsen is asking for “millions and millions” of dollars in a settlement. Lady Gaga’s people are calling this a “brazen shakedown,” and say they’ll “fight it vigorously and will prevail.” Ronsen claims HE came up with the three-note progression, but Gaga’s lawyers point out that it’s common, and can be heard in musical pieces dating back centuries.  For example, it’s also in the Kansas track “Dust In The Wind” from 1978. The “New York Post” says Ronsen’s song had less than 300 streams on SoundCloud when they published the story.  Now it has well over 6,000.

SUZANNE SOMERS is 72 now, and she’s doing great despite being diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago. In fact, she says that the diagnosis was, “one of the greatest gifts” she ever received, because it threw her into a lifestyle of healthy, organic living. She decided to remove every toxic chemical from her home, and forego chemotherapy treatment. She says, “I just thought, I’m going to win this my way, I’m going to change my life. I’m going to eliminate as many chemicals from my life – my lifestyle and diet – as I can possibly consume.  So that’s what I’ve done.  There’s not one chemical in our house and you can feel it when you walk in.” Years ago, the American Cancer Society criticized Suzanne for promoting alternative cancer treatments . . . but 20 years after her diagnosis, it doesn’t sound like she has any regrets.
