Luke Combs is continuing his prolific musical output with the release of a new tune, “Let’s Just Be Friends,” from the soundtrack to Angry Birds Movie 2, which is set to hit U.S. theaters on Aug. 14.

The affable new song features Luke crooning the reconciliatory lyrics: “You’re from one side of the tracks / And I live on the other / Why we don’t see eye to eye / Really ain’t no wonder / But you got the rock and I got the roll / You got the heart and I got the soul / So let’s just be friends / Ain’t gotta fight about it / Let’s find our way around it / Let’s just be friends / Hey, what do you say.

The North Carolina native is the first country artist in history whose first five singles have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. His sixth single, “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” is currently No. 2 on the chart. In addition, Luke recently made history as the first artist to simultaneously top all five Billboard country charts for multiple weeks: Top Country Albums, Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Song Sales. He was also inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in July.
