JEFF BEZOS and his wife MACKENZIE have finalized their divorce, and yeah, she did okay. She’s walking away with $36 BILLION.  That’s out of an estimated $149 billion fortune.  She’s now one of the richest women in the world. Jeff is keeping most of their stake in Amazon, plus all of the “Washington Post” and the aerospace company Blue Origin, which Jeff founded in 2000.  And it sounds like there are no hard feelings. Jeff Tweeted, “I am very much looking forward to our new relationship as friends and co-parents.  MacKenzie has been an extraordinary partner, ally, and mother.” And MacKenzie said she was, “Grateful for the past as I look forward to what comes next.”

Brad Paisley broke ground on a “free” grocery store in Nashville this week. It’s a grocery store where everything is free. It’s to help needy families who are don’t know where their next meal is coming from.  One in five kids live that way. It’ll be called ‘The Store,’ it’ll be located on the campus of Belmont University, where Brad went to college, and it’ll open later this year. Instead of a soup kitchen or a food bank, it’ll look and operate like a real grocery store.  People go ‘shopping’ through the aisles, then students and volunteers scan their items.  But no money changes hands.  Even the mechanical horse outside is free. That might sound a little odd, but the idea is give people dignity.  According to Brad, it “takes away the sting of embarrassment” for parents who feel ashamed they can’t feed their children, when they’re just trying to get back on their feet. “The kids should not know what their parent is going through.  That’s not stress a child needs.”

GEORGE STRAIT’S new album is called “Honky Tonk Time Machine”, a topic he knows a lot about . . . because he played a ton of them all throughout Texas before he filled arenas. He says each one has a great feel, and they’re all intimate. He says playing shows is a lot different now.  “In those days, the crowds weren’t standing at the front of the stage.  They were dancing. “That was what it was all about.  If they weren’t dancing, you probably weren’t doing too good.” There’s a big new mural of him in San Antonio, where he’s dressed like a king.  – the ‘King of Country Music.’  But in the mural, he’s wearing a crown on TOP of his cowboy hat.
