Remember “Cosby Show” actor GEOFFREY OWENS, the guy who played Sondra Huxtable’s husband Elvin? He hit up “Good Morning America” to talk about being “job shamed”, as the media has been calling it. And he wore his Trader Joe’s nametag.  He quit that job, though, because he started getting too much attention after that picture of him working there went viral. But he DID enjoy the attention he got from his friends, his family, the Hollywood community, and the general public, who gave him props for working an honest job. Geoffrey said he hopes his story will make people rethink what it means to work. “There is no job that is better than another job.  It might pay better.  It might have better benefits.  It might look better on a résumé and a paper. “But actually, it’s not better.  Every job is worthwhile and valuable . . . No one has to feel sorry for me.  I’m doing fine.”

A pair of The Wizard of Oz‘s iconic ruby slippers stolen 13 years ago have been found. The slippers had been missing since they were snatched from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota — Garland’s hometown — in 2005. The FBI held a conference Tuesday about the recovery of the slippers. Special Agent Christopher Dudley, who led the investigation from the FBI’s Minneapolis Division, said, “From the outset, our top priority was the safe recovery of the slippers”. We are still working to ensure that we have identified all parties involved in both the initial theft and the more recent extortion attempt for their return. This is very much an active investigation.” The slippers — which were on loan to the museum — were stolen on August 28, 2005. They are valued around $2 million or $3 million.  Only the slippers were taken in the theft, and an emergency exit had been tampered with.  Before the theft, Michael Shaw — a memorabilia collector who owned the slippers — had asked the museum not to place the shoes in a vault overnight to limit the amount they were handled. But most importantly, he’d been assured that the museum had security.
