At least 14 people were injured Saturday before an outdoor BACKSTREET BOYS show in Oklahoma, when high winds knocked over a big metal structure. The show ended up being canceled.

 

ARIANA GRANDE says that her family pronounced her last name ‘GRANDY,’ as if it rhymed with ‘Candy.’ But her brother changed it to GRAHN-DAY when she started getting famous, because he thought it sounded cooler.

 

Sometimes artists will collaborate on a song, and they never even see each other. They may even record their part on the other side of the world. Fortunately for JILLIAN JACQUELINE, that didn’t happen when KEITH URBAN helped with her song, “If I Were You”.  She got a close-up look at how he works. He invited her to his home studio while he recorded vocals and played guitar on it and it all came together in a couple of hours.  She said, “He sang his parts flawlessly along with my vocals while I was sitting next to him on the floor. His voice and guitar playing took this song to the next level, and I am so proud of it.” “If I Were You” came out Friday.

ARETHA FRANKLIN’s funeral will be held on August 31st in Detroit. There will be public viewings on the 28th and 29th.

SCOTTY MCCREERY announced the dates of his “Seasons Change Tour.” He’ll kick it off November 29th in Dallas, Texas . . . and take it into January.

 

THOMAS RHETT and Lauren welcomed their adopted daughter Willa Gray into their home over a year ago. And now, he can’t imagine life without her. He says, “The word ‘adopted’ doesn’t even make sense in my head anymore.  I know that it happened and I remember it very vividly, but it kind of feels like she has just always been here.  Even though Willa Gray comes from [a] whole different part of the world, she’s ours and it feels like she never wasn’t.”

 

Whiskey Riff calls COLE SWINDELL’s song “Dad’s Old Number” the “most powerful” track on his new album. That album is titled “All Of It”, and it came out Friday.

 

Somebody asked JUSTIN MOORE to describe his perfect summer day. He said, “We do a lot of swimming.  We have a pool at the beach house [in Florida] and also at our house, so the kids love to swim.  I love just laying on the beach drinking beer.  Pretty much my favorite summer pastime.”
