ERIC CHURCH did an interview in the August edition of “Rolling Stone”. He revealed for the first time that he ALMOST DIED last year from a blood clot in his chest. It began last summer with a tingling in his hand, and then swelling in his arm. Things kept escalating and before long he was in surgery. Turns out it was a birth defect where his top rib was too close to his collarbone. “It’s called thoracic outlet syndrome. There’s a major vein that runs through there, and when I would raise my arm, it would pinch it and damage the vein. Like any clot, when you get enough pressure, it’s gonna blow.” He had another surgery a week later to remove the top rib, and then spent a lot of time doing rehab and physical therapy before going back on the road in the fall.
Brigitte Nielsen says that becoming a new mom again at age 54 makes her feel “young” inside, but the reality is that motherhood for the fifth time was more than a little more difficult due to her advanced maternal age. Now 55, she opens up in this week’s issue of PEOPLE about her grueling journey toward welcoming her daughter Frida, whom she gave birth to on June 22 after more than 10 years of undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment. Nielsen says that soon after meeting her husband, she started planning for their future together by freezing her eggs at age 40. “If you don’t want to use [donor] eggs, you have to preserve your own eggs at a reasonable age for there to be a possibility,” she says. “I wouldn’t even bother trying after age 42.” Still, that’s no guarantee it will work. Doctors gave Nielsen an incredibly slim chance of conceiving with her own eggs — around three to four percent.

Cole Swindell might sing about romance, but in real life, he’s happy to be single. He might be content riding solo for now, but eventually the 35-year-old does hope to find someone special. Swindell’s parents divorced when he was young, which makes him even more cautious in choosing who he wants to date.
