TRENT HARMON’s song “Her” was inspired by a real woman. She’s someone he had to shut down back when he was competing on “American Idol”. “One particular night I had to deal with the faithfulness situation. I told the young lady, I said, ‘I’m out here to do a job. “‘I have a job right now. I’m on this show and you’re sweet. [And] even though she hasn’t been out here, I have a girl. I have a her. You can’t be her.” If you’re wondering about the REAL her, well, they’re still together.
The people who are getting paid by MAREN MORRIS are very lucky. “One of my favorite things about being a boss is taking care of people. Band and crew salaries, healthcare, knowing they can come talk to me directly and not my ‘assistant.’ Offer ideas and build loyalties both ways is cool.”
It was only 2 years ago that LUKE COMBS was traveling from show to show in a van. A few hit songs later and he has 2 tour buses, with a 3rd one on the way. “Having privacy and your own shower and your own bathroom and your own bedroom is really nice.”
JOHN CENA and NIKKI BELLA are reportedly trying to work things out.
RASCAL FLATTS found a fun way to promote their Back To Us Tour, which kicks off June 8th. They got in a room with their openers, DAN + SHAY and CARLY PEARCE, and did an unplugged version of the Gatlin Brothers classic “All The Gold In California”.
This week’s CD Releases include new music from Luke Combs, Roger Daltrey, Thompson Square, and Michael Ray. KEIFER and SHAWNA THOMPSON have been married 19 years. He says the secret . . . is getting along. “Make sure you’re friends first. It’s a thing with us. I think we’re best friends. We haven’t been apart two weeks at a time in all the years that we’ve been married.”
Thank you LUKE BRYAN for getting the fact that when we go to concerts we want to hear the hits! “I want fans to be able to come to a show and [hear] an artist with big ole crazy hits. I just love seeing fans out there singing these big hits that they’re hearing on the radio.”
TYLER HUBBARD is happy that country music is now a place that welcomes artists from all genres. “I wonder if BEBE [REXHA] thought she was going to be a country artist a couple of years ago. I don’t think that was in the plans. But I think that’s the cool thing about country and I think that’s something we should all be proud of . . . the fact that we’re open arms and open ears and everybody’s kind of ‘no judgment’ . . . and it makes me really proud to be in the format.”
