THOMAS RHETT learned the hard way that even artists who are ON the show need to have a backstage pass. One night he went into the crowd to watch the opening act. While he was roaming around they changed security guards. When he returned the guards didn’t know who he was and needed to see his pass. He said, “I’m trying to point at the poster in the hallway like, ‘hey, that’s like my face and I have to get back there because I’m about to start.’ “And I literally didn’t get back there until like one minute before my show went on. So it really taught me to keep up with a laminate and the pass.”
