CMT Artists of the Year Announced: Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, FGL & Chris Stapleton Honored

CMT announced today (Sept. 13) the recipients of their 2016 Artists of the Year honors.

This year’s honorees include Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett. The seventh annual CMT Artists of the Year special will take place on Oct. 20 at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Chris Stapleton moves from last year’s Breakout Artist of the Year to this year’s Artist of the Year recipient, and Kelsea Ballerini, who just made history by scoring her third consecutive No. 1 hit, will receive the second-annual Breakout Artist of the Year award.

Former CMT Artist of the Year honorees include Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Hunter Hayes, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Sam Hunt and Zac Brown.

Congratulations to all the honorees. Stay tuned to Nashcountrydaily.com for additional awards, performers and special guest announcements.
