George Strait, Steve Earle, Jason Isbell & More to Perform at Americana Honors & Awards Show on Sept. 21

George Strait was already scheduled to appear at the 15th annual Americana Honors and Awards Show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 21 to honor Jim Lauderdale with a lifetime achievement award, but today (Sept. 6) it was announced that George will also be performing. And if you are a betting man, you can lay the big bucks on King George singing one of the 14 tunes that Jim penned for him, including “I Gotta Get to You” and “Do the Right Thing.”

If you need more than a performance by George to get you excited (you shouldn’t), a who’s who of country and Americana stars will take their talents to the stage at the awards show on Sept. 21, including Billy Bragg, Steve Earle, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Jason Isbell, Jim Lauderdale, Billy Bragg, Shawn Colvin, Rodney Crowell, Joe Henry, The Lumineers, Milk Carton Kids, Buddy Miller, Parker Millsap, John Moreland, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Weir and Lucinda Williams.

In addition to the nominees in their respective yearly categories, the 2016 Honors & Awards Show will pay tribute to this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award honorees: Bob Weir, Jim Lauderdale, William Bell, Billy Bragg and Shawn Colvin, as well as posthumously honoring the great Woody Guthrie.

A live audio simulcast of the Honors & Awards show will also be available via SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country.
