Ho, Ho, Ho, Chris Young’s New Christmas Album Has “Surprises for Everyone”

I hope you’re on Santa’s “Nice List” this year, because Chris Young is making a Christmas present for you. On June 30, Chris announced via Facebook Live that he’s been busy in the studio recording his first Christmas album.

“We are making a Christmas record,” Chris said. “I am so excited. You guys know Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I have so many Christmas songs I want to do, it was hard to narrow it down to this album.”

Nash Country Daily got the chance to talk to Chris about his upcoming Christmas album, and while he is still holding his cards close to his vest regarding the album’s content, Chris did share a few sentiments.

“I’m really excited about the Christmas album,” says Chris. “It’s just such a cool thing for me. I’m Comin’ Over was my fifth album. With this Christmas album, this will be my sixth, which I can’t believe. I’ve gotten to do a lot of really cool things in my career, but I love Christmas music and I’ve only ever put out one Christmas song that was on a Sony collection album. To be able to have a full project to really put my hands on is unbelievable. Having string parts and really getting to do some stuff that’s massively big as well as some stuff that’s stripped down and traditional sounding. It’s been a lot of fun and there are a lot of surprises for everyone and a lot more that I can’t wait to start telling people about, because it’s killing me not to be able to talk about it yet.”

Chris kicks off the second leg of his I’m Comin’ Over Tour on Sept. 29, with support from Cassadee Pope, Dan + Shay and Dustin Lynch.
