Hunter Hayes, Eric Paslay, Lindsay Ell & More Salute Lady Antebellum as They Receive Musicians On Call Honor

Last night (Aug. 9) Lady Antebellum was awarded the Music Heals Award at the Musicians On Call Half a Million Moments Nashville Celebration.

“We are excited to honor Lady Antebellum for all they have done for Musicians On Call and hospital patients throughout their career,” said Pete Griffin, Musicians On Call president. “This intimate event will celebrate the generosity of Lady A and our volunteers who have helped us bring the healing power of music to over half a million people.”

The focus on Lady Antebellum was also present in the evening’s entertainment, as each featured artist—several of which were unannounced—performed one of the trio’s chart-topping songs.

Guitar guru Lindsay Ell delivered a groovy rendition of No. 1 song “Downtown.” Later, surprise guest Hunter Hayes played a solo interpretation of “Compass.” Finally, Eric Paslay performed “Golden,” the title track from their 2013 No. 1 album.

Musicians On Call board chair Scott Welch, volunteer guide Richa Chandra and volunteer musician Laura Eady were also recognized for their participation and commitment to the work of the organization.

Musicians On Call focuses on bringing live and recorded music to patients in healthcare facilities. They have programs in 11 major U.S. cities and their volunteer musicians have performed for 500,000 patients and their families since starting in 1999.

According to the MOC president, more than $100,000 was raised by the various auctions held during the special event.
