One of the Men Behind the Band Perry’s Concert Cancellation Is Arrested

The Band Perry cancelled their concert in Shelbyville, Del., on July 3 after two men allegedly made alarming statements to employees at the Americana Bayside Welcome Center. The cancellation came less than a month after former Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was killed by a crazed fan during an autograph signing in Orlando.

Police announced today (July 5) that Dzmitry N. Papou, 35, of Shelbyville, had turned himself in on July 4 and was charged with a felony count of terroristic threatening. He was released on a $20,000 bond and issued a no-contact order with the Welcome Center. Police have identified the second man, but no arrest has been made yet.

The sold-out concert was expected to draw approximately 2,400 fans before the Perry siblings issued a post on their Instagram account to let fans know the show was cancelled and rescheduled for Aug. 17.

Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson has died.  His family didn’t announce the exact date or cause of death, but he was diagnosed with dementia and placed in a conservatorship last year.  He was 82.
