A new trailer for “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” hit YouTube yesterday, and fans are FREAKING OUT because it looks like a very popular character is going to bite the dust. There’s a scene where some little welding droid is doing work on the back of C-3PO’s head, and Poe Dameron asks, “What are you doing there, Threepio?” And he replies, “Taking one last look, sir, at my friends.” Rey and Finn are in the room, too, and they look pretty emotional.  R2D2 has a little mini-fit and has to be comforted by C-3PO . . . and Chewbacca lets out a sad roar. So does C-3PO die?  Something tells me the fact that they’re showing this scene means he DOESN’T die.   Then again, they’ve already killed off Han and Luke.  But if you think about it, they still need to give CARRIE FISHER a proper send off since she died before filming even began on this movie.  Maybe a sacrifice from Threepio is how they’ll resolve the emotional impact of Leia’s storyline as well.

Houston Astros pitcher LANCE MCCULLERS JR. is giving World Series tickets to some fans who were taunted by New York Yankees fans at Game Five of the ALCS in New York last Friday. The three fans were visiting New York, and scored tickets to the game. They decided to wear Astros gear, which naturally made them a target. One guy tried to start a fight, and others threw food and a beer at them.  Eventually, security came and escorted the Astros fans to other seats so they could finish watching the game.

“Gemini Man” was supposed to be a big draw. Well, apparently most people didn’t care to watch WILL SMITH fight a younger version of himself.  It’s officially a bomb. In two weeks, “Gemini Man” has only made $36.3 million in the U.S.  That sounds good, but it cost around $140 million to produce.  The “Hollywood Reporter” says it’s projected to lose “$75 million or more.

ASHLEY MCBRYDE won the ACM New Female Award and she’s nominated for a Best New Artist at next month’s CMAs. What really blew her away was getting to work with so many of her musical heroes. She says, “This year was a blur.  There were so many good things that happened so fast that we had a hard time soaking it all in.  [Working] with George Strait, being with Brooks & Dunn, doing things with Garth Brooks, and hanging out with Trisha Yearwood.  It’s like the ’90-est thing ever I could do, and it really blows my mind how amazing this year has been for us.” Ashley co-wrote the song “Bible and a .44”, which is on Trisha’s album, “Every Girl”.  She said, “For her to put her voice on one of my songs is fantastic.  And Patty Loveless sang the harmony song.  Are you kidding me?”

This is kind of a surprise. LINDSAY ELL finally scored her first Top Five hit.  It’s her duet with BRANTLEY GILBERT – “What Happens In a Small Town”.  It’s been a long time coming. She says, “I’ve dreamed of having a Top Five single ever since I moved to Nashville, and the fact that it’s finally here . . . the fact that I can share that with Mr. Brantley Gilbert . . . I’m very grateful, and I feel so honored.” Hopefully, her second Top Five song will be here soon. She adds, “We are weeks away from new music.  Weeks away.  I’m so excited.  I cannot wait to get some new songs out there.  It’s been too long.”

KEITH URBAN brought in ERIC CHURCH for a duet of “We Were”. Eric is one of the co-writers and Keith thought it would be cool to hear him interpret the lyrics. He says, “Eric has such a knack for storytelling and choosing images and lyrics that they seem like a thousand people must have used them before, and yet they’re completely original.”
