The cops in Forest Grove, Oregon just released their police blotter from a few weeks ago . . . and one case in particular stands out. “A convenience store employee reported that a man wearing a Cookie Monster shirt came in . . . opened and ate half a package of cookies, then left without paying.” They tweeted out a surveillance shot of the guy, so the next day, he went to the police station to confess . . . but he said it was a, “misunderstanding.” There’s no word on what charges he’s facing.

Earlier this week, a jury ruled that KATY PERRY’s song “Dark Horse” ripped off a Christian rap song called “Joyful Noise”. , producer Dr. Luke, her label Capitol Records, and several others are on the hook for a combined $2.78 million in damages.  The bulk of the money, $1.2 million, will come from Capitol, and Katy personally owes $550,000. The money will go to “Joyful Noise” songwriter Marcus Gray and his co-plaintiffs.  But Katy’s lawyers have filed a motion for the judge to, “rule that no reasonable jury could find copyright infringement based on the evidence presented at trial.”  And if that’s successful, the damages COULD be tossed out. And even if the judge upholds the verdict, Katy’s team can appeal.

Ten years ago this month, the Black Eyed Peas song “I Gotta Feeling” was the #1 song in America. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Aniston broke up.  And the TV show “Shark Tank” made its debut.

“Harper’s Bazaar” did a feature on MAREN MORRIS where they followed her around on tour, and then talked to her about her career. She started touring when she was 12 years old.  She’d go to school all week and then do shows all over Texas during the weekend.  And she had to grind it out in some tough places. She said, “I’d like to say that everyone’s an overnight sensation when no one’s heard of them before. But you don’t see all those years of playing in [crappy] honky-tonks and being stiffed by the club owner and not getting paid, but playing the show anyway.  And being, essentially, background music. “I definitely had dues to pay.  I had a lot of doors slammed in my face.  But one song can change everything.  And that’s what happened with ‘My Church’.” Now that she’s doing well she sees herself as a spokesperson for women in the music industry.  She wants to change the idea that female country artists don’t do as well as males. She said when she looks out at my crowd, the majority are ladies and she just feels like she debunks that theory every night, because they’re the ones buying the tickets, the merch, and the songs, and singing so loud back to them.

Kathie Lee Gifford rocked out with a mystery man at a Journey tribute band concert in Tennessee on Sunday. A bystander said, ‘She looked a little tipsy. She was having a great time dancing very intimately with a male friend. Retirement looks good on her’. Gifford bid goodbye to hosting the TODAY show this April, after joining the program in 2008. The 65-year-old seems to be enjoying the budding relationship, four years after the death of her husband Frank Gifford.

The two were often seen chatting during down time on the Los Angeles set in 2018. On Tuesday evening the 33-year-old was photographed kissing Brad, who has been single since splitting from Angelina Jolie in 2016, when on the red carpet at the London premiere.

Pauley Perrette’s ‘NCIS’ Assault Claims Involving Mark Harmon Have Been “Resolved”. Back in June, Perrette said in a tweet to her social media followers questioning her return to NCIS, “NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it.” In 2018, the actress also took to Twitter, suggesting she was the victim of “multiple physical assaults” which may have led to her departure from NCIS in May of that year. Perrette is set to return to CBS in 2020, starring the comedy Broke.

Dierks Bentley met some shelter dogs while on the TODAY Show, and decided to bring one of the animals home. “I’ve been texting back and forth with my wife and kids,” Bentley revealed on the show. “They really want a third dog. My wife for her birthday said, ‘All I want is a third dog.'” Bentley met a dog that he instantly fell in love with, and felt was meant to be a part of the Bentley family.  “I feel a connection. I feel it’s meant to be,” Bentley said, adding that his kids were “jumping up and down,” and making plans to meet him at his next tour stop in Jones Beach. “They’re going crazy,” he said. “They’re going to fly to Jones Beach (Bentley’s next tour stop) tomorrow. They’re all going to come to Jones Beach tomorrow — just to see the dog. They don’t care about Dad.”
