KATY PERRY sent TAYLOR SWIFT a literal olive branch . . . thus concluding one of the bloodiest conflicts in human history. But why? In a radio interview, she said, “I realized how much we have in common . . . and that we should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and to be able to be there for each other. I think . . . we have influence to young people and especially young girls who are in this type of situation day in and day out at school . . . I just hope that other people can learn from it too.” Katy appears in Taylor’s most recent video, “You Need to Calm Down”, and that was Taylor’s idea.  She called Katy and they met in person to discuss it. Katy said, “She invited me over to her house.  She made me some cookies . . . and she actually makes those cookies, and they’re actually delicious.”

METALLICA played a show in Finland on Tuesday night, and ended up performing for 1% of the ENTIRE POPULATION. They drew a crowd of 55,000, and there are only 5.5 million people in all of Finland.  The band donated 55,000 euros to a local children’s charity – one euro for each member of the audience.

“Pokémon: Detective Pikachu” is the highest-grossing video game movie of all time. It passed “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” to become #1 in the U.S.  Now, it’s passed “Warcraft” to take the top spot globally

PAUL MCCARTNEY is working on a stage musical based on the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life”. He’s doing it with the guy who made “Billy Elliott”, and they’re hoping to have it ready by the end of next year.

MIRANDA LAMBERT’s new song is called, “It All Comes Out In the Wash”.  Miranda’s mom used to say that. . . and that’s how the whole thing started. She tossed it out to the three other female writers she was working with . . . and off they went.  “That’s something that all our moms would say to us when we were little . . . was to not worry about a stain.  We like to talk about girly things and things going on in life when we write together, so I feel like this song is just kind of a mix of scenarios that all of us have either been a part of, or seen, or you know, something that’s happened in all of our lives. Realizing that when you have something in your life that’s a little hurtful, or a moment you wish would pass, it does all pass.  And it all comes out in the wash.”

VINCE GILL and JOE DIFFIE helped induct LUKE COMBS into the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday. Luke’s mom and grandmother snuck him into a concert Vince was doing at a minor league baseball stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. They hid him in the backseat.  And it was a great night, until it wasn’t. Luke says, “I actually missed my favorite song that night.  I started crying because there was thunder in the background, so we ended up leaving early.” The actual Opry induction was emotional, although Luke managed to sneak in a little humor.  Here’s some of his acceptance speech:  “It’s pretty hard to find anything to say that makes me feel like I wouldn’t sound like an idiot right now.  “Here I am on stage with people that I grew up listening to and people that have shaped me as an artist, and I just want to say thank you.  And thank you to the fans.  Without y’all there is no country music.  I will never forget tonight.  Thank you everyone for being a part of it.”

Sandra Bullock is a puppy parent again! The 54 year old actress has adopted a 2-year-old rescue poodle nearly a year after the death of her dogs Poppy and Ruby, who died within days of each other. While out with her boyfriend, 37 year old Bryan Randall and the new pup in L.A. in early July, Bullock stopped at the Just Food for Dogs pet store and “got a full consult on what to feed the dog”. A source says, “She was super nice and down-to-earth. She didn’t act like a celebrity.” She mourned the death of her dogs weeks after the heartbreaking loss of her father, John, who died in September 2018 at age 93. Bullock opened up during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.  She said she thought she was going to be fine and then a week later she was in bathtubs crying and the kids are like, ‘Is Mommy OK?’ Everyone was like, ‘Just leave Mommy in the bathtub. She’s gonna be fine.’ (Bullock is the mother of son Louis, 9, and daughter Laila, 7.)

Game of Thrones performers Alfie Allen (who played Theon Greyjoy), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) and Carice van Houten (Melisandre) on Tuesday morning received Emmy nominations that caught many by surprise — including, it appears, the team behind the show’s awards campaign. HBO confirmed that it did not enter the trio for consideration by the performers peer group of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and so each of the performers, via their reps, went ahead and submitted themselves, picking up the $225 entry fee.
