There’s been a lot of talk about equal pay in soccer in the wake of the Women’s World Cup – Procter & Gamble is jumping into the fray, because their Secret brand deodorant is a sponsor of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. Procter & Gamble is donating $529,000 to help close the pay gap, which breaks down to $23,000 for each of the 23 players on the U.S. team. Obviously, that doesn’t fully cover the pay gap. They also took out a full-page ad in “The New York Times” urging the U.S. Soccer Federation to “be on the right side of history.”

CHRIS PRATT surprised the crowds at 2 different clubs in Nashville last week. He showed up at Robert’s Western World and performed the Johnny Cash classic, “Folsom Prison Blues”.  Sarah Gayle Meech was performing, but she was more than happy to share the stage and she posted some of it online.

JENNIFER LOPEZ’s show at Madison Square Garden Saturday night was cut WAY short due to the blackout. In a Twitter video she said, “I am obviously heartbroken and devastated . . . I’m so sorry this happened in the middle of our moment.”  The show was rescheduled for tonight.

SHAWN MENDES has been doing everything he can to deny he’s dating CAMILA CABELLO, but that’s over now. They were spotted kissing TWICE this weekend. Someone got a video of them Friday at a place called Dottie’s True Blue Café.  Then on Saturday morning, they were locking lips at a different restaurant. People have been trying to connect them since they teamed up for the track “Senorita”, but the two have been trying to keep it all on the down-low.

THE BAND PERRY released a new song last week called “The Good Life”. It’s NOT country, it’s “electro pop”. The lyrics are KIMBERLY PERRY’s brutal take on her relationship with her ex-husband, former Major League baseball player J.P. Arencibia.  “I’m not gonna be a joke / I know about your sidepiece, bro / I’m not gonna fight anymore.  Glad I never had your baby / This’ll be a cleaner cut / You can keep the Labradors.  [Have] a good life.” And in case that’s not clear enough, she hit up Instagram to say, “This song is about the infidelity I experienced.  [It] was written during a toxic and difficult time in my life, but I’m singing it to you now with the voice of a woman who has regained a strong sense of self, rebuilt her womanhood, and is grateful to have learned so much.” As you might expect, J.P. sees it differently, so he released a statement to “People”. “I will say there was no infidelity.  It’s a shame that all of this is now being made up to promote an album . . . I have moved on and hopefully one day she can as well.”

CHUCK WICKS and Jason Aldean are now brothers-in-law. Chuck married Jason’s sister Kasi Williams last week in Mexico.  It’s Chuck’s first marriage and Kasi’s second.

CYNDI LAUPER stepped on a bee and got stung right in the middle of “She Bop”. Without stopping the song, she sat down on the stage and pulled the stinger out of her foot.

PAUL MCCARTNEY performed at Dodger Stadium on Saturday night. It was the last stop on his tour, and he had a special treat for fans. During the encore, he brought out RINGO STARR.  He said, “We’ve got a surprise for us, a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone.  Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only Ringo Starr.” They hugged, and then performed “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Helter Skelter”. It’s rare for Paul and Ringo to share a stage these days, but they also teamed up for a performance of Paul’s song “Queenie Eye” at the 2014 Grammys. Paul performed a 38-song set.  He paid tribute to George Harrison, singing “Something”, and to John Lennon, singing “Here Today”.  He also brought out Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh during “The End”. Despite this epic finish, it doesn’t sound like Paul’s done touring.  At the end, he said, “Farewell to you guys, farewell to America.  There’s only one thing left to be said, ‘We’ll see you next time.'”

If you absolutely LOVE a certain country star, whoever that is . . . you should join their fan club. Here’s why:  KENNY CHESNEY’s fan club members are the only ones who get to buy a new coffee table book that he’s releasing.  He’s only printing 3,500 of them, and they’re all signed and numbered. Even then, fan club members can only buy them through a lottery, but each one will definitely be a collector’s item.  It’s called “Kenny Chesney: Living In Fast Forward”, and details are at LivingInFastForwardBook.com.
