“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” won the box office this weekend, but its $49 million opening weekend was down from the early estimates of $60- to $65 million. The previous “Godzilla” movie opened with $93.2 million in 2014. The Elton John movie “Rocketman” also debuted in the Top 3 with $25 million.

ROBERT PATTINSON is your new Batman. Warner Brothers has confirmed that he’ll star in the upcoming movie “The Batman”. Director Matt Reeves, who stepped in after BEN AFFLECK bolted, calls it a “defining” and “very personal” story about Batman.  It’s due out in June of 2021. Affleck was originally supposed to both direct AND star in the movie.

Taylor Swift kicked off Pride Month by sending a letter to Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander in support of The Equality Act. It’s a bill in the state legislature that would outlaw discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity. In the letter, she calls such discrimination, “un-American and cruel,” and she even takes a shot at PRESIDENT TRUMP.

JAMES HOLZHAUER is still in the midst of his historic run on “Jeopardy!”, and he’s already parting with some of his cash. Last week, he donated $10,000 to ‘Communities in Schools’ – an organization working to help kids stay in school. The nonprofit’s focuses include mental health services, tutoring, and providing nutritional lunches. They thanked him in a Facebook post. He also donated $10,000 to another education charity last month.  And he has reportedly made donations to the Ronald McDonald House and the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. James has won $2,462,216 over the course of 32 “Jeopardy!” episodes, and is averaging nearly $80,000 per episode.  That means he’s VERY close to overtaking Ken Jennings’ $2,520,700 regular-season winnings record. He’s only $58,484 away, so there’s a good chance he’ll do it TONIGHT.  Ken made his bank over 74 games, but James may catch up in HALF the time.

Tony’s house from “The Sopranos” is for sale. It’s in North Caldwell, New Jersey, but it was only used for the EXTERIOR shots.  The owners want $3.4 million, which is pricey for the neighborhood it’s in.

KENNY ROGERS is fine and his people released a statement on Instagram:

“Kenny was recently admitted to a local Georgia hospital and treated for dehydration. He will remain there to complete some physical therapy to get his strength back prior to discharge. He appreciates the concern and well wishes he has received from his fans and can assure everyone he plans on sticking around through the years to come.” Kenny’s 80 years old and he did cancel dates on his farewell tour last year because of “health challenges” . . . but we have no reason to think this is anything serious.

JOHN RICH was on Fox’s “The Five” last week where he performed a new song called “Shut Up About Politics”. He co-wrote it with GREG GUTFELD, who’s one of the show’s co-hosts. Greg sent him tons of ideas and potential lyrics, and then John pulled out some of the good stuff – which included the song’s title.  The single is out now and it includes “guest vocals” from Greg and some of the other show’s co-hosts.  Proceeds will benefit Folds of Honor, which helps supports the families of fallen and wounded soldiers.

FERGIE has finally filed for divorce from JOSH DUHAMEL. They separated almost two years ago.

JOE JONAS says his parents found out about his marriage on the Internet, and he’s still trying to make it up to them. Joe says he should be able to make it up soon, as he and Turner are planning a second wedding and this time, it won’t be in a Las Vegas chapel. The two are set to wed in France this summer and there is no way both of their parents won’t be a part of it.

Billboard.com grabbed quotes from people who were roommates with country stars before they were famous. The best one is Chris Stapleton’s lucky ex-roommate who heard him singing though the air conditioner vents and thought, “someday people are going to be jealous of this.” The others are Luke Bryan, Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley, Brett Eldredge, and Neil Mason of The Cadillac Three.

MAREN MORRIS brought out NIALL HORAN to help her sing “Seeing Blind” at her Royal Albert Hall show in London. He played guitar and the crowd was pleased.  He also posted a photo of them on stage and called it “an amazing show.”

The Turnpike Troubadours have announced that they are going on an “indefinite hiatus.” The band says they’ll be taking a break “until a time we feel that everyone is of strong mind, body and spirit and can deliver what our fans deserve. We want nothing more than the opportunity for to heal, and to not put all of you through this ever again. To have a chance for any of this, we need to cancel all of our remaining tour dates. We ask that you please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we work to support and encourage.” Refunds for tickets to scheduled shows will be available at the point of purchase; the group had about a dozen shows scheduled from June through August. The Turnpike Troubadours had been canceling shows sporadically, and often at the last minute, for months, largely without explanation. At the shows the band did perform, frontman Evan Felker had been slurring his words and forgetting lyrics, leaving fans worried about his wellness.

Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, said on her podcast, “My husband is off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his weight.  And that makes me want to cry because he is the sweetest angel baby.  [He] doesn’t show it to you guys, but . . . it hurts him. The…

Ever since the great Nashville chair-throw of 2024, no one has heard anything from Morgan Wallen . . . until this past Friday night.  Morgan finally tweeted out and accepted responsibility for his actions. He said, “I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks.  I’ve touched base with Nashville…
