Yesterday a woman Tweeted that she “hated” the new “Sunday Night Football” theme, “Game On” . . . Carrie Underwood wrote, “Hey, I know my music isn’t for everyone, but I love what I do and I love being a part of “SNF” on NBC. I am one lucky lady.  I also love women who build other women up.  Just saying . . .” She followed that with: “Today, let’s be positive.  Let’s be NICE to each other.  Let’s do something nice FOR someone else.  Smile at a stranger.  It’s the start of a new week.  Today is precious.  Don’t waste it.  Sending love and cheer to you all.” The woman’s name is Jessica Smetana, and she’s a producer – show runner at “Sports Illustrated”. Once word got out, she Tweeted an apology saying she’s “sorry for dissing” the song and is “all about supporting women too” but she misses the previous theme.

 

ALABAMA is doing a 50th Anniversary Tour, and all three members are onboard: RANDY OWEN, TEDDY GENTRY, and even JEFF COOK who has Parkinson’s Disease . . . although only when he feels healthy enough. Teddy says, “Come celebrate the music with us on our 50th Anniversary Tour.  Each show will be a night to remember for us.  We’ll be there to thank our loyal legions of fans for supporting three boys from Alabama through thick and thin.” Randy adds, “We’re playing to three generations of fans who have followed us and our music from day one.  The fans are the ones responsible for our continued success on the road and we love them.” Several different acts will be opening select shows.  They include Charlie Daniels, Exile, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tracy Lawrence, Marshall Tucker Band, and Chris Janson. The first leg will kick-off January 10th in Detroit, Michigan, and there are almost 30 dates booked so far. April 12 – Wilkes-Barre, PA – Mohegan Sun Arena (w/ The Charlie Daniels Band)            April 27 – State College, PA – Bryce Jordan Center (w/ The Charlie Daniels Band)

 

RANDY HOUSER dropped video of a song called “No Good Place To Cry” – one of the tracks on his album “Magnolia”, which is out Jan 11th. The video combines shots of Randy performing, along with clips from the “Magnolia” companion film.

 

Midland guitarist JESS CARSON grew up on a tree farm.
