Natalie and Tootie laid Mrs. Garrett to rest on Sunday, and then made a whole day of it. “Facts of Life” stars MINDY COHN and KIM FIELDS attended a memorial service for CHARLOTTE RAE. Mindy posted a picture of herself and Kim together, and wrote, “Love you sis . . . couldn’t have gotten through today without you” on it.  There’s no word if LISA WHELCHEL or NANCY MCKEON were there.

Very sad news to report this morning: ARETHA FRANKLIN’s family says she’s “gravely ill” and, “asking for your prayers at this time.” CNN says she’s in hospice care. Aretha is 76, and she had surgery for pancreatic cancer in December of 2010.  But she kept performing until her doctors advised her to stop.  Her last performance was at ELTON JOHN’s annual AIDS fundraiser last November. Beyoncé and Jay-Z just happened to be performing in Aretha’s hometown of Detroit last night, and they dedicated their show to her.

PAULEY PERRETTE has more time on her hands since she quit “NCIS” . . . and she’s been watching some “Family Feud”, and she does NOT like what she’s seeing . . . particularly how NAUGHTY the show has become. In a rant on Twitter, she said, “I love STEVE HARVEY, and I love game shows. [But] WHY DO YOU MAKE YOUR PROGRAM SO FILTHY?”  If you’ve watched “Family Feud” over the past few years, you know it’s true.  Fox News even did a story on it three years ago . . . but nothing has really changed. Obviously, we all know WHY they’re doing it . . . for RATINGS.

In “A Star is Born”, LADY GAGA plays an aspiring singer-songwriter who’s having a hard time breaking into show business because of her looks. And that’s actually not too far from her own experience. She says, “When I wrote my earliest hits, people were trying to take my songs and give them to other people.  I was, like, clutching to them for dear life, thinking, ‘I finally wrote a hit. I can’t give it away.’ I was not the prettiest girl in the room.  I was a little weird, and I liked being weird.  I didn’t like to be sexual in a way that other pop stars or pop groups were.  “I was my own thing.  It’s heartbreaking because you feel like, ‘Why am I not enough?'”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD is excited to be co-hosting the CMAs again with Brad Paisley. “I love the team that we work with.  We have a lot of fun, and we kinda get to be the ones that represent country music and we take our jobs very seriously, but we love what we do.”

BRAD PAISLEY continues to give guitars away to random young fans in the crowd. He did it over the weekend, and this time he wrote about it on Instagram.  “To Braden, the boy I gave a guitar to Sunday night in New Hampshire: “My hope for you is that it simply brings you joy.  Less important are fame, attention, or fortune.  Those are secondary.  Practice, because the journey is worth it.  My grandpa said a guitar can get you through the hard times.  He was right.  Go play!”

LUKE COMBS’ “She Got the Best of Me” video has a lot of inside information that Luke’s fans may recognize. There are shots of his Boone, North Carolina hometown, cameos from his band members . . . and even the Dodge Neon he drove when he moved to Nashville.
