ROBERT REDFORD says he’s retiring from acting, because he turns 82 this month, and he thinks he’s done enough. His last movie, “The Old Man and the Gun”, comes out next month.

 

BECCA KUFRIN made her decision on the finale of “The Bachelorette” last night . . . and she went with Garrett over Blake. TMZ caught Becca and Garrett together months ago . . . essentially spoiling the season. Remember, a few months ago Garrett is the guy who came under fire for ‘liking’ some offensive posts on Instagram that mocked the trans community, a Parkland high school shooting survivor, feminism, and undocumented immigrants. They talked about it on the “After the Final Rose” special. Becca said she “doesn’t condone” those sentiments but that ultimately, she doesn’t care and just wants to move on from it.  So, they’re still happily engaged. Garrett said he stood by his previous apology, and he thanked Becca for “helping him through everything.”  And in another interview, Garrett said that just because he ‘liked’ the posts, doesn’t mean he agreed with them. Meanwhile, ABC gave the happy couple an OLD MINI-VAN, because on the first night, Garrett rolled up in a similar van.

 

One of the great things about CARRIE UNDERWOOD is how she looks like the girl next door . . . even though she rocked it with “Before He Cheats”, “Two Black Cadillacs”, “Dirty Laundry”. . . songs like that. But it sounds like we won’t be getting any of the ‘evil Carrie’ on her new album. She says, “I don’t think I kill anybody off on this one.  I know.  It’s so unlike me.  Everybody lives at the end.” She says this album’s songwriting was influenced by her son Isaiah and her husband Mike Fisher.  “Cry Pretty” will be out September 14th.

 

We’ve been hearing a lot about the CARLY PEARCE – MICHAEL RAY love affair . . . but now it’s time to talk about Carly’s other love. Running.  It’s one of those things that she’s driven to do.  She tells Pop Culture that it’s a must-have when she’s on tour.  “I’m a big runner so I always have to do that.  I’ve kind of found a new love in running arena stairs so we’ll see if I keep that up as I keep going this summer.” In a different interview she talked about distance running, although she has limits around that.  She’s been tempted to do a full 26.2 miles, but she knows her capabilities and doesn’t let herself . But she loves halves and hope to continue to do them.”

Jennifer Garner’s kayaking trip in Sweden took an unexpected turn. The 46-year-old actress and her daughter Violet, 12, had to be rescued after getting lost at sea while on vacation in Stockholm.

Former CBS anchor, Charlie Rose, was fired from the network in November 2017 following multiple allegations of sexual harassment, and is requesting an extension to his response to the complaint in an ongoing lawsuit in which he was accused of sexual harassment by three former CBS News staffers. “Rose unexpectedly fell ill on July 12, 2018, was hospitalized on July 15, and underwent major abdominal surgery on July 17. The recovery period for the surgery is six weeks,”

 

NASCAR CEO and chairman Brian France was arrested on charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to the news release, France was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, held overnight and arraigned Monday morning at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.

 

Kelly Clarkson is plotting a larger return to TV beyond The Voice. The Grammy winner is filming a pilot for a syndicated daytime talk show.

 

BROTHERS OSBORNE will be launching a headline tour of North America later this month.

Rodney Atkins‘ teenage son was involved in a drunk-driving accident last week. The country star, 49, recently revealed to Taste of Country that a “methed-out drunk driver hit” his 16-year-old son Elijah. Fortunately, Elijah sustained no injuries and he returned to high school earlier this month.

 

Reba McEntire, Rob Lowe, Jim Gaffigan, and others have all put on the white suit and trademark beard of KFC’s Colonel Sanders. Now, Jason Alexander will take a turn. He said in a press release, “As the son of two working parents, there were plenty of dinner-times when a bucket of chicken and all the fixins saved the day.  It’s been fun to combine my personal love for KFC with my sitcom experience into a new take on the role of Colonel Sanders.”
