There are people who think SAM HUNT’s music is too pop. And . . . they’re right.  In fact, he planned it that way from the beginning. “So far, my music has been influenced by pop culture.  And I’ve used my pop culture foresight to create a sound that I thought would be effective in today’s times.” And although the sound he created has served him well, he’s looking to change it up.  “I think as I continue to write songs, I may lean on country roots I think a little more than where the culture is going, musically. So I don’t know how that will work out, ultimately, but I think it will be fun for me to kind of create a more pure version of the music that’s been influenced by my country background.”

WILLIE NELSON issued a statement condemning the policy of separating immigrant children from their parents at the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Here it is: “What’s going on at our southern border is outrageous.  Christians everywhere should be up in arms.  What happened to ‘Bring us your tired and weak and we will make them strong?’  This is still the promise land.”

JENNIFER NETTLES and JOSH GROBAN must be working on music together. He posted a photo of them in the studio the other day on Twitter . . . and he captioned it, “Me.  Nettles.  Oh my goodness my ears and voice are happy.  Stay tuned.”

CHRIS LANE’s second album is called “Laps Around The Sun”, and it drops July 13th. He feels like he’s hitting his stride with this one.  “With my first record, I was trying to figure out exactly what kind of sound I wanted to have, and now I know.  I know what I truly love and what kind of artist I want to be.”

In honor of Father’s Day, DIERKS BENTLEY is remembering how much his dad has helped him appreciate country music. “We always drove around listening to country radio and George Strait, Hank Williams, and Randy Travis and all these guys.  Without him, I wouldn’t be doing this, that’s for sure.”

JORDAN DAVIS has always been impressed by his father’s work ethic. And now he’s glad that his dad has reached the age where he can take it easy.  “He’s a guy that’s worked hard and is now at a point where he can enjoy it, and he’s living every day to the fullest.”

TRAVIS DENNING and his father share a love of music. And now that Travis is a bit older he loves hanging out with his dad too.  “We get to go to concerts and football games and drink beer and just enjoy that cool part of a father and a son.  My dad is my best friend, for sure.”

Doritos has made a batch of massive Doritos — 18 times larger than the average Dorito. The company said it’s an “awesome way to experience Doritos snacks.” Because the giant “Jurassic Dorito” was made in honor of the new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom movie, the chip naturally comes in a giant dino egg. Each side is roughly 11 inches. Just 100 were made and each comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity.”

Jimmy Kimmel had Chris Stapleton on his show and he absolutely killed it on their “Wing It and Sing It” segment.  Jimmy explained that Chris used to love the show “Full House”, specifically John Stamos. So, the song they had Chris sing was sort of a loving tribute to his “hero”, John Stamos.  He had…
