“Ocean’s 8” took the box office crown this weekend with an opening take of $41.5 million. That’s a better opening than its 3 MALE-dominated predecessors, “Ocean’s 11”, “Ocean’s 12” and “Ocean’s 13”.

ANTHONY BOURDAIN committed suicide in France early Friday morning. He was 61.  There were a few developments over the weekend . . . Anthony reportedly hung himself in a hotel bathroom using the belt from his bath robe.  The local police say there’s no indication that anyone else had been there that morning, and there’s no sign of foul play. Toxicology tests will determine whether he had any drugs or alcohol in his system, but the results won’t be back for several weeks. Anthony’s friend, chef Eric Ripert, found his body in the hotel room.  They’d been filming an episode of Anthony’s travel and food show, “Parts Unknown”. Anthony had been dating Italian actress Asia Argento for more than a year.  She said, “He was my love, my rock, my protector.  I am beyond devastated.  It’s unclear whether they were still together at the time of his death.  Earlier last week, there were photos of Asia hanging out with another guy, and they were holding hands and hugging. In the wake of Anthony’s suicide, some people are suggesting that he and Asia were no longer dating, or that she had something going on the side.

These days TAYLOR SWIFT gets on the country charts by giving her songs to other artists. The two recent ones being LITTLE BIG TOWN’s “Better Man” . . . and SUGARLAND’s “Babe”. But according to CMT, Taylor would get shut down if she sent a song to KELSEA BALLERINI, even though they’re friends. However, a collaboration would work.  Kelsea said, “I think I’ll always cut my own stuff.  It’s part of who I am as an artist.  As much as I think she’s incredible.  I would love to write WITH her, though.”

LUKE COMBS lost his voice while performing at CMA Fest on Friday . . . so he’s been put on vocal rest. He canceled his shows over the weekend, plus his concerts this Thursday in Grand Junction, Colorado . . . and Friday in Comstock, Nebraska. “I saw my doctors and we’ve got a plan of vocal rest and treatments [so] I can be back with y’all as quickly as possible.  It kills me to [have to] do this.  Y’all are the reason I get on stage every night.”

LUKE BRYAN was on yesterday’s “CBS Sunday Morning” during their Musicians on Call segment. He entertained patients at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital and said that volunteering is the perfect way for him to STOP focusing on himself. “Trust me, I get in the habit of being all about me from time to time.  So whenever I can make it not about me and make it about somebody else . . . and put them first, I think it does your body good.” He also admitted that he has to change some of his lyrics when he visits the kids’ wing.  “All of my songs aren’t nursery rhymes.  So, when I have to play them for kids, I’ll do a little editing on the spot for ’em.”

A fan named Todd posted some very nice things about JAKE OWEN. Jake wrote, “I hope I can express to you how much your comment means to me. “I almost feel like you reached out and hugged me.  You’re always welcome at a show of mine.  One of these days I hope I can drink some of those beers, at one of those cookouts you speak of.”
