Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, quit her job at a mental health clinic in Los Angeles. It was her decision to leave. She has talked about starting her own private practice, focusing on working with elderly patients. This news comes the same day that Meghan’s father, Thomas, claimed that he will no longer attend their daughter’s upcoming wedding to Prince Harry. Footage was released of him seemingly staging photos with paparazzi. Also, he had a heart attack last week. But Meghan reportedly still wants him there.

MARGOT KIDDER died at her home in Montana on Sunday. There’s no word on a cause of death, but her manager said she died peacefully in her sleep.  She was 69 years old. Margot actually called in to a radio show this past Wednesday to promote an upcoming appearance, and she said she was in bed battling the flu and”puking every hour and a half.” Most people remember Margot as Lois Lane in the four CHRISTOPHER REEVE “Superman” movies that came out between 1978 and 1987. She was also in three classic ’70s horror flicks:  “Sisters”, “Black Christmas”, and “The Amityville Horror” . . . all of which have been remade in recent years. In 1990, she was involved in a serious car crash and ended up bankrupt.  A few years later, she was found wandering around L.A., obviously struggling with mental illness. Despite that battle, she was able to keep working, and even won an Emmy for a guest appearance on the children’s show “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour” in 2015. MARC MCCLURE played Jimmy Olson to Margot’s Lois Lane, and he said, “Margie was one of the strongest women I’ve ever known . . . she spoke her mind . . . She stood up for people.  She protected me on the set . . . I was just a kid at the time.”

Instead of talking about all the exciting new music he’s coming up with, SAM HUNT admits “It’s hard to explain to folks who aren’t necessarily writing songs or in this business. When I’m singing a song as an artist, there’s only so much that I really want to say or have to say.  I haven’t had a whole lot to say in the past year. So I’ve been writing songs that I don’t really feel are representing me, so I haven’t put out a record in the past year.” He does have a new single will be out in the next few weeks. He’s also going on tour at the end of the month . . . and is hoping that’ll light the fire.

MAREN MORRIS has been writing music for her next album. “Rolling Stone” asked if getting married has changed her lyrical approach. “The lyrics are more grown-up.  I recorded my debut album when I was 24 . . . I’m 28 now.  Doesn’t feel like that long ago, but a lot has happened in that chunk of time.  I’m in a healthier headspace [and] less judgmental of myself.” She’s been feeling the pressure to make sure her second album doesn’t fall flat.  Fortunately, she got some great advice from KEITH URBAN about that.  He told her not to overthink it. He said every album is a snapshot of that artist’s life at that time . . . so “focus on being there” . . . and then move on.  She said, “I’m just gonna go into a dark studio for a week and begin this sonic exploration.”

DIERKS BENTLEY’s new album “The Mountain” will be out June 8th.  He’ll give it a push by performing the whole thing live the DAY BEFORE . . . at the Ryman Auditorium.  Proceeds will benefit the Opry Trust Fund.

WALKER HAYES tells Taste of Country that he and his wife Laney are going to have a home birth for their seventh child . . . and it may even be a water birth. The baby’s due next month but he’s betting it’ll pop out before Memorial Day.
