PRINCE HARRY and American actress MEGHAN MARKLE are getting married in the spring. They met in July of 2016, and went public earlier this year. Meghan is on the show “Suits”, but she recently announced she’s leaving. The royals issued a statement saying, “The wedding will take place in spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course . . .”Prince Harry sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents. Harry designed her ring himself, and it includes two diamonds that belonged to PRINCESS DIANA.
A year after BILLY BUSH lost his job for co-starring in the infamous DONALD TRUMP “Access Hollywood” video, things aren’t much better. He ended up in the hospital yesterday after getting drilled in the head by a golf ball. But he said, “Scan is clear, let the jokes begin.”
CHRIS STAPLETON absolutely loved opening for TOM PETTY last summer, so it’s no surprise he’s still feeling the pain of Tom’s passing. Especially because they were starting to become friends. He says, “I got to spend a few minutes with him, and the last thing he said to me was, ‘I hope we get to do more of this.’ I left there thinking that we would get to do more of it, and I’m so heartbroken and sad that he’s no longer with us. He’s given us so much music . . . and brought so much joy to so many people who have listened to his songs. I would not trade anything for those shows, and that brief moment I got to speak with Tom. It was a highlight of the year for me.”
Seems to me that just about every country artist eventually gets around to recording a Christmas album. I always thought it was because they love the season, and that may be true, but there’s another, more sinister reason. Sometimes they have to. That’s what DUSTIN LYNCH said when asked if he has one in the works. “I don’t know if I’ll ever do a Christmas album. It’s part of my record deal, so I think in writing I have to. But there hasn’t been any talks yet.” Dustin may have realized he said too much because then he started going on about how much he loves the music. “I sing Christmas music year-round. I catch myself in the heat of summer singing Christmas songs, and I know that’s when those are supposed to be recorded. So I’ll fall right into place if they ever ask me to do one.” It wouldn’t surprise me to hear that record companies always try to put that in the contracts of new artists. Christmas albums are easy because there are hundreds of famous songs to choose from, and many are in the public domain with no royalties.
